An Update – What’s Next

Now that Tortugas Rising is out, it’s back to work. Here’s what’s coming up.

Songs of the Apocalypse: A Duck & Cover Adventurette – a short story that follows Jerry and Chewy into the wasteland where they encounter a young virtuoso. Hilarity ensues. Hopefully.

A second Duck & Cover Adventure – Jerry and Chewy will be wandering the wasteland again. There’s no telling what they’ll encounter this time. Really, I’m not telling. Not yet.

The Prize of Pilar – I’ve had the idea for the sequel to Tortugas Rising in my head for a couple of years now and, after revising and publishing the first adventure of Steve and Paul, I’m looking forward to putting them in harm’s way again. I set out to write their adventures as an answer to my own question, “Why must all the protagonists be special/ex-special forces, cops or detectives?” I’m really enjoying thinking of ways to get the two friends into trouble through no fault of their own. The second adventure will take them to Canada, Cuba and South America.

The Bulletproof Adventures of Damian Stockwell – This will be the first book in a new series. I’ve always loved the old pulp stories – mad scientists, ridiculous heroes, spectacular gadgets and weapons. The ignorance of science in the golden age drove such fantastic and imaginative stories. This will be my attempt to play in the genre. Damian Stockwell is an adventurer on the side of right in the 30’s (back when apparently that was an occupation). Super-science and sinister plots will fill the pages. Don’t worry. I’m not rewriting Doc Savage. I have a hard time taking anything too seriously.

There’s many more stories in all of these stories to tell. And there are many more series and standalone stories that I want to tell. I’ll get to them all as fast as I can write them to a point where they don’t suck. What’s listed above are just the next few items in the hopper.

In the meantime you can always follow my blathering on twitter @BenMWallace, or on facebook benjaminwallace – author. I’d love to hear from anyone who has read my stuff.

Thanks for reading. I hope I can keep you entertained.
