Here it is–a page that’s all about me being an author. I’m as shocked as you are. Really.
I’ve always wanted to be an author. I’ve been a writer for years. But, an author?
I still feel a little sheepish calling myself an author. Even saying “novelist” makes me look around to make sure the authorities aren’t listening.
But, I guess I’ll have to get used to it. I authored a novel. People have paid for it. And people have enjoyed it. And, I intend to do it again and again.
If you found your way here, you might be a fan wondering when the next book will arrive.
About that let me say, “Holy crap! I’ve got fans?” While I appreciate everyone who has read my book and enjoyed it I must say you are being fairly irresponsible by inflating my ego like this.
Now that I’ve got people actually listening to me I should say something important.
Um…
Look, that’s just not me.
I’ve thought about what to fill these pages with. There are plenty of good writing sites out there with much better advice than I could give. There are also plenty of publishing sites out there. Taking my advice on almost anything would probably be a bad idea.
So, here’s what you’ll get if you come back again: fascinations and inspirations. Mine. Sure, you can use them too. I’ll be putting up the things that fascinate me and get my mind going. I’ll post things that inspire me as well. I’ll also look to get other authors on here to share their own inspirations.
Now, I may not tell you where these inspirations take me, because they may not take me anywhere. It may just be something that rattles around in my head for years.
I’ll certainly keep you posted on works in progress and such. But, I’d like this place to be more fun than word counts and bitching about writer’s block.
I’d also love to hear from you, the reader–the fan (still sounds weird). I’ll do my best to answer all emails and comments.
