I’ve been wanting to read Roadmarks by Roger Zelazny for quite some time now. Or maybe that was Callahans’ Crosstime Saloon. Either way, I’m reading this one now, I’ll get to the other one later.
The Road runs from the unimaginable past to the far future, and those who travel it have access to the turnoffs leading to all times and places–even to the alternate time-streams of histories that never happened. Why the Dragons of Bel’kwinith made the Road–or who they are–no one knows. But the Road has always been there and for those who know how to find it, it always will be!
I’ve never read anything by Zelazny that I didn’t like, from the Amber chronicles to A Night in the Lonesome October. The Callahan’s Crosstime Saloon books by Spider Robinson are also well worth reading (there are 5 altogether I think, and maybe some short stories…) They are funny and poignant, and larded up with puns and Sci-Fi fandom in-jokes.
One of my all-time favorite books. Hope you love it too!
